Bridge to Terabithia character comes to life!!!

If I could make one of the characters from Bridge to Terabithia come to life, it would be Miss Edmunds,
When she walked into the room I think she would say a cheerful, “Hello!”
The class would respond with a gasp of curiosity and surprise.
She would see the the year 8 classroom’s unique layout and design as well as the astonished faces of the year 8’s themselves.
She would hear loads of questions being fired at her faster than a machine gun, and she would feel the ground shaking like an earthquake from all the sound and movement.

She would still have all her personalities and characteristics including her music, she would be the music teacher in our school because we do not have one and the class atmosphere would be slightly different seeing that it is located in a different area. It would be completely different to where she taught before. This is what she would look like...

Bridge to Terabithia Chapter Summaries

C1
In this chapter it describes one of the main characters Jess. It explains how his life is not like ours and is the complete opposite of luxurious. His family is not very wealthy and Jess has a passion for running (he sneaks out of his house every morning and secretly practises).
He is not the normal type of child like us, he lives in a poor and unpopulated area and has to live without any luxuries at all.
C2
Jess is an extremely enthusiastic artist and likes to draw unusual creatures when he is not busy milking the cow or doing other chores.
Although he loves art his Dad does not approve of it or think it is worth it, he thinks it is a waste of time and blames it on Jess’ school teachers, but surprisingly they don’t like to see it either, except one teacher…  Mrs Edmunds who Jess has a secret admiration for.
C3
In this chapter the race (running) finally comes and Jess hopes to win the race and become the fastest kid in fifth-grade. When and new girl in their class- Leslie joins in Jess’ race and wins, Jess is taken completely by surprise.
C4
In this chapter Jess and Leslie sit together on  the bus and Leslie explains about her life in the suburbs and how they ended up here and why- because of having too much money so they moved here to look after a farm etc…
At the end of this chapter they find a secret rope which they swing on and discover a secret land in which they crown themselves king and queen/ rulers of the place they call “Terabithia.”
C5
This is basically the part in this novel where they finally stand up to their school bully “Janice Avery”` when she steals Maybelles twinkies due to her showing of in the bus. Instead of beating her up (or at least trying to) Leslie and Jess come up with a cunning plan and decide to take advantage of her secret crush for a  boy and pretend to be him and write her a love note. She indeed receives the note and then gets really embarrassed when he turns her down in front of all her friends and classmates.
C6
This chapter is the coming of Christmas when Jess wants to give Leslie a present but can’t draw anything he thinks she’ll be pleased with, and does not have enough money to buy her anything.
Instead, when he is on the bus he sees a sign saying…” Puppies for sale FREE!!!”
He makes an excuse to get off the bus saying,  “I just remembered that I need to do some errands for my mum here.”
He then later on gives the puppy to Leslie  in Terabithia.
C7
In this chapter they do not go to Terabithia at the start due to Leslie having to help her father  Bill with renovating and painting the house,  but when Jess goes to Terabithia on his own the magic just doesn't work, so he decides to help Leslie and Bill with their work and finds out that Bill, or “Mr Burke” really appreciates his help and they talk about music and songs.
C8
In this chapter Leslie comes around to Jess’ house while his sisters are all having a big discussion on what to wear to church on Easter when…
Leslie hears about it and asks if she could come with them. At first Jess denies whether she would want to come, but Leslie seems quite interested so she does come in a dress unlike what she would usually wear like sneakers etc… and she seems to really enjoy it and they talk about it on the way back to home.
C9
In this chapter Jess and Leslie go back to Terabithia in the rain and find that their tree hut or
“Castle”  has been damaged. They repair it and they call the rain an evil spell.
C10
The main part in this chapter is when Miss Edmunds (the music teacher) invites Jess to go with her to the gallery and have a look for the day, and when he passes Leslie’s house he thinks about inviting her to come with them but doesn’t bother to.
Without Jess knowing, Leslie goes to Terabithia alone while Jess and Miss Edmunds are at the gallery.
C11
This chapter is when Jess returns home from the gallery and finds his whole family  huddled together and sigh in relief when they see Jess. He asks them why they are all together and waiting quietly when his father comes up to him and says, “We thought you were dead!” “What do you mean?” he asks,  then his dad says…
“I’m sorry son but you know your friend Leslie died this morning swinging across a rope over a river when they said she hit her head and possibly drowned.”
Jess thinks they are lying when he realizes they are speaking the truth, so in a rage mixed with confusion he runs away to Terabithia to see if the rope is actually snapped and it turns out that his family was actually not lying.
C12
In this chapter they go to the funeral of Leslie and then Jess notices Miss Edmunds and when she comes to say sorry Jess turns and walks away staunchly.
C13
This chapter is when Jess borrows some of Leslie’s dad’s wood planks when he is leaving.
With these materials he builds a bridge across the river where Leslie drowned as he feels like it is the right thing to do so  no-one will ever die there again. Jess makes May-Belle the new Queen!!!

Overall this was a great book and I really enjoyed reading it because it is really suspenseful  and adventurous!!!

Animals in captivity writing

Is animal captivity right? How would you like to be treated like that, forced into acting like a circus pet and being harmed if you do not do so.

In many countries wild animals have been captured and held captive in homes and spaces that have not been approved for animals of that size and attitude to live in.
Wild animals require fresh habbitats and large areas to live in and play in aswell as to see more of their own kind aswell as the physical requirment there is the mental and spiritual need aswell.

I have seen a video of an animal ( Bear ) being forced into doing tricks then being electrocuted this is un-human!!!

This have reached so an extent that this is one of the facts I learned…..
Did you know that there are more tigers in captive in America than in the wild how outrageous is that!!!

Animals will ruin your home and could possibly kill you because they are dangerous as I found out from an article where a chimpanzee jumps on it’s owner and starts clawing him!!!

In conclusion I would just like to say that holding Animals in captivity and treating them like this is not right and cruel they are also Gods creation like you and I so how would you like to be treated like that, Stop holding animals in captivity it is not right!!!

NYLD 2015

NYLD-2015 dunedin

Monday the 11th was a truly inspirational day,
It was the day that the national young leaders day
( NYLD) for 2015 was held.

It was held in Dunedin in the south island of NZ,
NYLD is held as a program for students at schools especially targeted at the Year 7 and 8’s although there were some year nines there.

NYLD is a program that has many guest speakers invited that share inspirational speeches and talk about leadership to you and obviously the over 1,000 other students, and the venue this year ( The Dunedin town hall) was awesome with all the lights and all the pumped atmosphere.

Even though there were many amazing speakers I came to a  conclusion of my favourite one, “William Pike” who I found incredibly inspirational and motivational.

His talk was not just a speech but a thought changing message, He had a story about how he had lost a leg.
He had been venturing with his best friend james as he loved to do when he found the shelter and got inside and set up, he could not go to sleep that night because he was not too tired, when all of a sudden he heard a rumble the shelter was about to “crumble”. he saw the roof smash open when james woke up and realized that the shelter itself had crushed and trapped williams leg, he knew there was only one thing he could do seeing he could not move the debris so he strapped up and headed to find help and rescue William. so they eventually came as William prayed to stay alive and live on, once he had reached the hospital and been tended for he heard the bad news that his leg would have to be amputated, he got a fake leg and he didn’t just settle with that and never go to be like the old him, instead he climbed that very same snowy and steep mountain again and made it to the top!!!

NYLD your amazing journey was the topic for this year, and it certainly lived up to the name this was a truely motivating experience,

How William pike inspired me was in a life changing way that I will never forget, and it’s all thanks to NYLD!!!
