The steps to becoming a saint.

There are many steps to becoming a saint, this is how it goes…

Step 1: wait 5 years after your death.

Step 2: Become a follower and servant of God,
dedicate your life to God and preach his way by your actions.

Step 3: Show the proof and evidence of heroic virtue,
show the virtues you have and how you are a virtuous person.

Step 4: Verified miracles,
This is how you prove that you are already heaven on earth through yourself.

Step 5: Canonisation,
This is the final step that declares that they are worthy of being announced as a saint, this is done through a special mass that also recounts that person's life.

Careers essay Aeronautical engineer

My career is an aeronautical engineer, an aeronautical engineer is an engineer that specializes in aerospace, planes and other flying objects.
There are many skills and personal attributes that are involved in this career, but if you already have interests in some of these it will make it a lot more fun and easy.
Interests like in making things hands on following a blueprint and making them with exact precision and accuracy is one of the main things involved in this career.
Get out your reading glasses; the journey of an aeronautical engineer is about to begin.

You can’t just get this job without putting in the hard yard though; you have to have these…
You have to get a bachelors degree in aeronautical and aerospace engineering, you may even need a professional engineering licensure for some specific positions.
The average salary for a standard aeronautical engineer is $103.870 .
Think about it, do you have the passion to be airborne? Do you like designing and making your own creations? If so this could possibly be the job for you!

What are the chances of getting this job would I have a chance after all that hard work?
The answer to that is yes you would have a shot, in fact a very good one,
The chances of getting the job as an aeronautical engineer are extremely high due to a shortage of people in this career.
What if I still don’t get the job? If you don’t get the job it is good to know that your qualification can lead to many other types of engineering like mechanical engineering, automotive engineering and even a production manager, so if you don’t get the job these are just some of the other occupations that you could have.
If you get turned down by one company does not mean that you have to try another job, just try another company, The main employers of aeronautical engineers in NZ is Air NZ. The main areas in NZ are in Christchurch and Auckland so try your luck in these places.

To sum it all up this may be a job for you if you’re into these types of occupations, or possibly not, remember there are many jobs out there and there will be one that is guaranteed to be the one for you.
Aeronautical engineers are jobs that help the world and will be in high demand because the whole world needs to travel, and what better way than to fly if it is far away!

Aeronautical engineer, is it the job for you?

Eilean mor investigation writing

Story report and summary of...
Eilean Moore
Eilean Moore, a replacing light-house keeper, investigated the light-house after they got no response to their search for contact. As he neared the door, he saw that it was  unlocked. Stepping carefully and cautiously inside, he also noticed that two of the three Moleskin jackets usually kept in the hall were missing. In the kitchen, he found a half eaten meal and a chair “knocked over.” The clock in the kitchen had stopped. The lighthouse keepers were nowhere to be seen. A further investigation revealed the disturbing final entries in the lighthouse log. The entry for December 12, noted that the island had been struck by severe winds, worse than anything Ducat had experienced in his 20 year experienced career. Even though the lighthouse was solid and sturdy enough to outlast any storm or weather, The article wrote that the Principal Keeper, James Ducat, was very quiet. The third keeper, William McArthur, was an experienced sailor and a famously tough tavern brawler. The log entry ended but nothing was mentioned that he had been crying.

What and where is Eilean mor?

Eilean mor is one of the flannel islands off the coast of Scotland. It has heaps of Jargard rocks, and cliffs. There is also a Light-house that once worked but one year after it was built it stopped. To this day it has never light up again, It is still the way it was when the three lighthouse keeper “vanished.”

What happened to the three lighthouse keepers is still an unknown mystery yet to be solved, this is what we think happened to them on that unfortunate day…

We think that One of the three lighthouse keepers had killed the other two lighthouse keepers, this is how we think he did this horrible execution…

The two other keepers had been getting suspicions of the haunted island and the ghosts and spirits that occupied it and got to a point where they wanted to kill themselves in order to escape this misery and punishment.

St Cormac’s Chapel
This little chapel stands close to a natural landing place at the north-east end of the island. It has had a chequered history.

The simple rectangular structure was built in the 13th century. It was extensively altered in the 14th century, when John MacDonald, 1st Lord of the Isles had the chancel upgraded. It was finally converted into a dwelling house in  around the 1700’s, for use by a tenant called Macneil of Gill Choille, the island’s owner.

The effigy(sculpture) of a late-medieval cleric, richly attired in his vestments but now headless, is still preserved there.

My writing about Aeronautical engineering

Aeronautical engineer.

I carefully unroll the updated scroll, blue lined images flow through my eyes.

This is not my first time reading a blue-print, in fact I’ve read several. But every single model of a plane is different just like you and I. My eyes scan and process the information, ideas start to flow.

I assign the tasks to my team. The planes body is a familiar shape, a sarcophagus with hieroglyphics sketched onto it. I draw my pencil from my ear; time to work.

The buzz of the heavy machinery echoes all throughout the rooms.

This is what I love doing, the air is crisp and fresh just like what the plane I’m making now will fly through.

Imagine being an aeronautical engineer.

A Vampire story I wrote

It was night, the mischievous man shoot glare at me, his skin was white chalk, he was at the other side of the empty shallow viewing space, although it felt as though he was right beside me that’s when I dropped my brooms handle and saw the blood thirsty razor sharp fangs seeping out of his rose red mouth!!!

It had been 5 hours since I had first started my shift for the day I started at 4:30 in the afternoon, you should be able to guess what time it is now.
I had just finished cleaning the theatre and all the seats and floor/carpet till it was clean as new, it was dark and cold in there, it was a horrible place to work, but I was the only person in the whole theatre; well at least that’s what I thought…

There was a creek in the floor as I walked over it, it was a sharp “creek!”
It would give me a fright every time I made a step; I leaned over the chair to pick up a bit of spilled popcorn but then I heard another creek; but this time it wasn’t mine because I had been completely still, I turned around and saw the freezing cold emotionless face staring straight at me; my whole life was just about to get chucked on it’s face…

The horrifying thing had just woke up from it’s slumber in it’s coffin and was now a blood-thirsty predator it was… The Vampire!

A day before he had to go to work he had lost a coin, The vampire took a coin and threw it at Dillan, but this was no ordinary coin, it was the exact same as the one he had lost; this was it! Dillan had been arguing with his boss about his payment he was talking to his boss about getting a payrise,
His boss’s reply was you’ll get your money, he had said this in a mysterious and unsure voice.

The vampire had a smirk on it’s face and said the thought changing words of…

To be continued…!

What makes me, well... me!!!!

The Eagle poem from Oral assesment

He clasps the crag with crooked hands;
Close to the sun in lonely lands,
Ring'd with the azure world, he stands.

He soars through the crisp breeze;
one of his glances will make the people freeze,
his prey is everything he sees...

The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls;
He watches from his mountain walls,
And like a thunderbolt he falls.

War writing, The piano

The man was sitting there at his emotional place,
His eyes set on the keys of the piano, when the war veteran from 1939-1945 (WW2) wanted to drift into his memories the piano was his way back,it was also the switch to his remembrances  flowing out like an endless stream of emotions going into the abyss of sadness.
He lived in an old but spacious house in Paris France, he was 87 years old and had gone through alot in his life.

The old man that was once just a normal young boy had started as soon as he was old enough to be forced into going to the war and being harshly trained.
His childhood was indeed nothing like ours, for one he had an environment that was lonely and sad, he was a quiet and lonely innocent little boy, his little house he used to live in was located in a suburban area, this meant that he didn’t have much friends to play with or even in a small amount of distance from his house.

But the thing is that if he had people his age around it would probably make no difference, due to his anti-social attitude.

He had started his hard and long journey which went like this…
“Hurry up!” This was the sound of the army trainer shouting at the training soldiers for war; which was not a pretty experience.
After the soldiers had been trained and were ready to go to war they were chucked on a ship towards the battlefield/area where if they are lucky they will survive and make it back home to their families and children or…
They will die seeing that they have served their country and the war is not over and peace has not yet been made.
All those lives lost they all once had passions like the piano, we will remember them lest we forget!

War helmet writing

As I look at the helmet I found on Flanders fields, It reminds me of how the person wearing it would have felt, It was an old war helmet which had the poppy red medic cross on the sides which were painted on.
It would have belonged to one of the war nurses, it was camouflage green despite that very important emblem.
Those soldiers would have shouted as they fell “ Help I’m injured!”
It was worn out and damaged due to the shots of destruction and rubble that had been fired at it, it would have been on the head of that heroic medic, which would have ran to help the injured soldiers as they fell to the ground with a sudden clash of their armor hitting the ground and lying still.
It was not much of protection because it was just a mould of heavy and sluggish metal, but it was enough to slow down and attempt to block a bullet or piece of deadly shrapnel which would lead to the life of a loyal soldier who fought for his country!

Bridge to Terabithia character comes to life!!!

If I could make one of the characters from Bridge to Terabithia come to life, it would be Miss Edmunds,
When she walked into the room I think she would say a cheerful, “Hello!”
The class would respond with a gasp of curiosity and surprise.
She would see the the year 8 classroom’s unique layout and design as well as the astonished faces of the year 8’s themselves.
She would hear loads of questions being fired at her faster than a machine gun, and she would feel the ground shaking like an earthquake from all the sound and movement.

She would still have all her personalities and characteristics including her music, she would be the music teacher in our school because we do not have one and the class atmosphere would be slightly different seeing that it is located in a different area. It would be completely different to where she taught before. This is what she would look like...

Novel studies book chapter summaries ( bridge to Terabithia )

Bridge to Terabithia Chapter Summaries

C1
In this chapter it describes one of the main characters Jess. It explains how his life is not like ours and is the complete opposite of luxurious. His family is not very wealthy and Jess has a passion for running (he sneaks out of his house every morning and secretly practises).
He is not the normal type of child like us, he lives in a poor and unpopulated area and has to live without any luxuries at all.
C2
Jess is an extremely enthusiastic artist and likes to draw unusual creatures when he is not busy milking the cow or doing other chores.
Although he loves art his Dad does not approve of it or think it is worth it, he thinks it is a waste of time and blames it on Jess’ school teachers, but surprisingly they don’t like to see it either, except one teacher…  Mrs Edmunds who Jess has a secret admiration for.
C3
In this chapter the race (running) finally comes and Jess hopes to win the race and become the fastest kid in fifth-grade. When and new girl in their class- Leslie joins in Jess’ race and wins, Jess is taken completely by surprise.
C4
In this chapter Jess and Leslie sit together on  the bus and Leslie explains about her life in the suburbs and how they ended up here and why- because of having too much money so they moved here to look after a farm etc…
At the end of this chapter they find a secret rope which they swing on and discover a secret land in which they crown themselves king and queen/ rulers of the place they call “Terabithia.”
C5
This is basically the part in this novel where they finally stand up to their school bully “Janice Avery”` when she steals Maybelles twinkies due to her showing of in the bus. Instead of beating her up (or at least trying to) Leslie and Jess come up with a cunning plan and decide to take advantage of her secret crush for a  boy and pretend to be him and write her a love note. She indeed receives the note and then gets really embarrassed when he turns her down in front of all her friends and classmates.
C6
This chapter is the coming of Christmas when Jess wants to give Leslie a present but can’t draw anything he thinks she’ll be pleased with, and does not have enough money to buy her anything.
Instead, when he is on the bus he sees a sign saying…” Puppies for sale FREE!!!”
He makes an excuse to get off the bus saying,  “I just remembered that I need to do some errands for my mum here.”
He then later on gives the puppy to Leslie  in Terabithia.
C7
In this chapter they do not go to Terabithia at the start due to Leslie having to help her father  Bill with renovating and painting the house,  but when Jess goes to Terabithia on his own the magic just doesn't work, so he decides to help Leslie and Bill with their work and finds out that Bill, or “Mr Burke” really appreciates his help and they talk about music and songs.
C8
In this chapter Leslie comes around to Jess’ house while his sisters are all having a big discussion on what to wear to church on Easter when…
Leslie hears about it and asks if she could come with them. At first Jess denies whether she would want to come, but Leslie seems quite interested so she does come in a dress unlike what she would usually wear like sneakers etc… and she seems to really enjoy it and they talk about it on the way back to home.
C9
In this chapter Jess and Leslie go back to Terabithia in the rain and find that their tree hut or
“Castle”  has been damaged. They repair it and they call the rain an evil spell.
C10
The main part in this chapter is when Miss Edmunds (the music teacher) invites Jess to go with her to the gallery and have a look for the day, and when he passes Leslie’s house he thinks about inviting her to come with them but doesn’t bother to.
Without Jess knowing, Leslie goes to Terabithia alone while Jess and Miss Edmunds are at the gallery.
C11
This chapter is when Jess returns home from the gallery and finds his whole family  huddled together and sigh in relief when they see Jess. He asks them why they are all together and waiting quietly when his father comes up to him and says, “We thought you were dead!” “What do you mean?” he asks,  then his dad says…
“I’m sorry son but you know your friend Leslie died this morning swinging across a rope over a river when they said she hit her head and possibly drowned.”
Jess thinks they are lying when he realizes they are speaking the truth, so in a rage mixed with confusion he runs away to Terabithia to see if the rope is actually snapped and it turns out that his family was actually not lying.
C12
In this chapter they go to the funeral of Leslie and then Jess notices Miss Edmunds and when she comes to say sorry Jess turns and walks away staunchly.
C13
This chapter is when Jess borrows some of Leslie’s dad’s wood planks when he is leaving.
With these materials he builds a bridge across the river where Leslie drowned as he feels like it is the right thing to do so  no-one will ever die there again. Jess makes May-Belle the new Queen!!!

Overall this was a great book and I really enjoyed reading it because it is really suspenseful  and adventurous!!!
Great summaries Joel- you included enough detail for me to be able to follow the story. I’m glad you enjoyed the story.  Miss Huls

Animals in captivity writing

Is animal captivity right? How would you like to be treated like that, forced into acting like a circus pet and being harmed if you do not do so.

In many countries wild animals have been captured and held captive in homes and spaces that have not been approved for animals of that size and attitude to live in.
Wild animals require fresh habbitats and large areas to live in and play in aswell as to see more of their own kind aswell as the physical requirment there is the mental and spiritual need aswell.

I have seen a video of an animal ( Bear ) being forced into doing tricks then being electrocuted this is un-human!!!

This have reached so an extent that this is one of the facts I learned…..
Did you know that there are more tigers in captive in America than in the wild how outrageous is that!!!

Animals will ruin your home and could possibly kill you because they are dangerous as I found out from an article where a chimpanzee jumps on it’s owner and starts clawing him!!!

In conclusion I would just like to say that holding Animals in captivity and treating them like this is not right and cruel they are also Gods creation like you and I so how would you like to be treated like that, Stop holding animals in captivity it is not right!!!

NYLD 2015

NYLD-2015 dunedin

Monday the 11th was a truly inspirational day,
It was the day that the national young leaders day
( NYLD) for 2015 was held.

It was held in Dunedin in the south island of NZ,
NYLD is held as a program for students at schools especially targeted at the Year 7 and 8’s although there were some year nines there.

NYLD is a program that has many guest speakers invited that share inspirational speeches and talk about leadership to you and obviously the over 1,000 other students, and the venue this year ( The Dunedin town hall) was awesome with all the lights and all the pumped atmosphere.

Even though there were many amazing speakers I came to a  conclusion of my favourite one, “William Pike” who I found incredibly inspirational and motivational.

His talk was not just a speech but a thought changing message, He had a story about how he had lost a leg.
He had been venturing with his best friend james as he loved to do when he found the shelter and got inside and set up, he could not go to sleep that night because he was not too tired, when all of a sudden he heard a rumble the shelter was about to “crumble”. he saw the roof smash open when james woke up and realized that the shelter itself had crushed and trapped williams leg, he knew there was only one thing he could do seeing he could not move the debris so he strapped up and headed to find help and rescue William. so they eventually came as William prayed to stay alive and live on, once he had reached the hospital and been tended for he heard the bad news that his leg would have to be amputated, he got a fake leg and he didn’t just settle with that and never go to be like the old him, instead he climbed that very same snowy and steep mountain again and made it to the top!!!

NYLD your amazing journey was the topic for this year, and it certainly lived up to the name this was a truely motivating experience,

How William pike inspired me was in a life changing way that I will never forget, and it’s all thanks to NYLD!!!
